Moisture Replenishing
If you have dry skin, which seems to be a common problem, and are looking for something to add to your acne skin care, the solution seems relatively simple; use a moisturizer. But do be aware they work in different ways and are classified as:
Protein rejuvenators
Occlusives
Hemollients
Humectants
Commonly, moisturizers are applied by gentle rubbing them into the skin. This will allow the natural oils to be replaced and will protect the skin at the same time. Moisturizers will improve the look and feel by slowing down the evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture.
Moisturizers provide the replenishing of water to the skin. Water comes from deep within the skin’s layers and as it moves to the surface it can evaporate.
You will notice it is dry when you have less than 10% moisture content and little continuity of the outer layers.
When using a moisturizer for acne skin care or just to a basic skin care regimen it should include the process of, reducing water loss, increase water content, repair skin barrier, and rebuild skin’s ability to gather, maintain and distribute water.
With most moisturizers containing protein and collagen that say it can rejuvenate the skin will most likely not happen because the molecules are not able to get deep into the inner layers because they are too large. However, you will feel some relief from dryness even if it is just temporary.
Emollients will become dry then shrink to provide a film of protein that will appear smooth, lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Your moisturizer should, reduce and prevent loss of water and provide moisture to the skin, be long lasting, a help in restoring the lipid barrier, help the skin to feel supple and smooth, give you immediate hydration to the skin, hypoallergenic, non-clogging, free of harsh chemicals and affordable.
